State of the negotiations on the operational programmes for 2014-2020 and closing of the perspective 2007-2013 were the main topics discussed during the first meeting of Minister of Infrastructure and Development Maria Wasiak and new EU Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Creţu. Commissioner chose Poland as the destination of her first visit after taking up her duties.

Minister Maria Wasiak
Maria Wasiak is the new minister of infrastructure and development. She received nomination on 22th September 2014 from the President of Poland Bronisław Komorowski. Replaced Elżbieta Bieńkowska, which was designated to take over as European Commissioner for internal market and services, industry, entrepreneurship and SMEs.

European Commission approves the plan of EU funds allocation for Poland for the years 2014-2020

Today, the European Commission approved the Partnership Agreement which is the most important document determining the investment strategy for the new pool of European Funds in Poland. Poland is thus one of the first countries to finish the negotiations on this strategic document.

Polish-Singaporean cooperation in air transport

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Development Elżbieta Bieńkowska met with Lui Tuck Yew, Minister for Transport of Singapore During the visit, an agreement on air transport between Poland and Singapore was signed.

10 years of Poland’s membership in the EU – 10 years with the European Funds

On 1 May 2014, we celebrated the 10th anniversary of Poland’s accession to the European Union. From 2004, Poland has received over EUR 82 billion from the cohesion policy, which we have invested in i.a. new roads, improvement of the environment, fast Internet access and development of innovative companies. The funds we received have exceeded the total Polish national contribution over 3-fold. As a result, Poland is the largest net beneficiary of the European Union funds and the average amount of the EU financing per capita in Poland was PLN 8 500.

Opening of negotiations with the European Commission concerning the Partnership Agreement 2014-2020

On 5 March 2014 negotiations between the European Commission and the Polish government, aimed at the elaboration of methods for best allocation of Community funds in the years 2014-2020, began. Opening of negotiations took place after submission of draft Partnership Agreement by Poland on 20 January 2014. The Partnership Agreement is a strategic document that comprehensively covers issues related to European Funds.
